This song by Brett Eldredge is so ridiculously cute that I cannot help but smile and sing my heart out whenever it plays. And just note that I've had it on repeat the last 24 hours. ;) Well, to be honest, his entire album has been on replay. I just love listening to Country music [year-long], but during the race to the summer, it just seems to get 500% more enjoyable. The lyrics above are from his song Beat of the Music.
Aside from that, I'd just like to wish you all a happy Friday! I am exhausted from this past week. I went to the gym everyday aside from Tuesday, and I have honestly worked my ass off. Tennessee is my motivation. {Three more weeks, baby!} I digress. Smile, turn up the tunes, and get your butt out this weekend. :)
Spring is in nine days! You do not know the amount of joy that is bouncing around inside of me. I am looking forward to all of the fresh scents, the lovely rays of sunshine, and most of all: the shift in clothing! Although dresses and skirts are possible to wear year-round, it is just something about the spring and summer that makes me want to break them out. In the winter, tights do not seem that warm enough for me {A reason to invest in some better ones?}, so I lean towards pants, sweats, etc.
This spring, I am going to try and shift towards the brighter colors (possibly some pastel, as well). Black in my favorite color, but this dreadful winter has made me want to see more vibrant tones and say to hell with blacks, grays, and deep blues. {Although, I love to wear blue during the summer! It's the coastal gal in me.}
On another note, because the coming of spring is so darn close, I have been interested in some pieces that I will be grabbing as soon as my online shopping ban (for lent) is over (or I happen to make it into the stores sometime soon). Although I can go to the mall physically, I am trying to show enough restraint and save some money by limiting my spending on clothes. By doing this, I can see what I really want instead of just blowing my cash on something that I think I want at the moment. You know what I am talking about! Harhar. I'm pretty sure a lot of gals do. The only exception I am making is getting either a dress, romper, or shirt/skirt combo for my school's Grammys that are coming up. I have made the wise decision to not buy any shoes because I have some very versatile heels and wedges th at is bound to go with the outfit one way or the other. We shall see....hohaha (that's meant to sound suspenseful).
Good music is starting to come back in more ways than one (country, dubstep, alternative, etc). It may not all be back, but some artists are truly improving the music scene of today. I have quite a few artists to share with you, but I will be doing that over the next few weeks (or I may dedicate one entire week to music - hm, who knows?) I digress. Avril Lavigne's self-entitled fifth album is officially out in stores and available on iTunes today. The album has been available to stream for a week or so now, but today is your chance to legally (and yes, I am speaking to you all that goes the whole youtube-mp3 route) purchase it.
Avril Lavigne is not my absolute favorite album of Avril's (The Best Damn Thing is), but it is very much loved by me! I love how she tried different genre styles, which I think worked out in her favor. While some may be against her testing the waters of dubstep on the tune 'Hello Kitty' or the crazy, badass tune feat. Marilyn Mason on 'Bad Girl', I love love love it! Seriously. This album is really fun and enjoyable to listen to. I have been with Avril Lavigne ever since I heard her song 'Girlfriend', and I have never turned back. All of her albums (do I necessarily need to screenshot?) rest in my iTunes library, including her newest one. I highly suggest you check it out! Three of my favorite tunes are below, just hit play to give them a listen.
Hi, lovelies! How has your Sunday been so far? I hope great. As you might know (of course you would, that is the only thing I've been chatting about), I am going on vacation to Florida today through next Sunday. Don't worry, though! I have pre-scheduled an entire weeks worth of posts that I think you may like [love?]. Some are more serious, down-to-earth posts, while others are amusing. I will not be checking anything blog related while on vacation, though, as I need a little refresher. The only thing that I will check occasionally is my email, but that is because...well, I swear by that (sue me). But that will be very seldom. If you want to catch real time photos, look out for them on my insta. I'll be posting tons and tons and tons! My family and I are planning on going zip-lining, jet-skiing, horseback riding (!), and swimming with dolphins. I am super geeked and cannot wait to get to Florida! Once back, I will share some vacation tips, recommendations (maybe), and other stuff about my vacation.
See you all next Monday! :) x
Song Choice: 'Girlfriend' by Avril Lavigne. Who remembers this tune!? I know that I do! And the remix feat Lil Mama. Oh my gosh, this used to be the song. It was also the song that began my obsession (read: strong love) for Avril's music, style, and just her in general. She is my idol, after all. If you have never heard this, then you have been living under a rock and get away. If you have, give yourself a little nostalgic feeling by pressing that play button below.
Shocked to see me on this here blog, today? No, good. I apologize that I did not post yesterday (or the day before?). It was a busy one, so I just did not feel up to writing anything to post (which is why I need to start scheduling some--oops). Considering that I have not done anything today besides try a little home-foot-treatment, read, and listen to music, I don't have anything special to share about my day. I can share what I am wearing, though. For a day at home, I can consider myself a little too overdressed from the waist up, but hey, I wanted to look cute! Sue me. ;)
I am wearing a camisole and button down shirt from Dots. The shirt is one of my favorites as it is just baggy enough and very comfy (two must-haves). As for bottoms, I am wearing my Forever 21 denim shorts and Target oxfords that I bought for $10, like, last year (they're very comfortable and cute!). Don't ask me where I got my earrings from because I'll respond with, "no se." I took them from my sister's room as I am finally getting into wearing more than just studs (a girl loves what she loves).
Song Choice: 'Rock N Roll' by Avril Lavigne. One of my favorite gal artists is coming back, and yes, I am super emotional because of this little fact. Not only has Avril's music helped me get through tons, it's also apart of my childhood. She is just so. darn. perfect. Sticking with her rocker vibe, this 2013 single is no different! From the hot singles that she's released this year, it's obvious that her next album will be a total killer! Check it out below if you've been super spaced out in this stupid world and have not heard the beautiful goodness from Avril.
