I enjoyed taking these photos a bunch! I played my music, danced, and just....well, just acted like me. Guess what that sums up to: weird {yet freakishly awesome}. Lately, I have been addicted to Fall Out Boy's album Save Rock and Roll. Their songs are turning up in my gym playlist, in my party playlist, etc. Never underestimate the powerful vocals and beats of FOB. {I wish I could go to their summer concert! Gah! Too bad I couldn't buy tickets because I was unsure of my summer plans. :( Boo.}



 I really wanted to name this post Young Volcanoes, but the above photo (second) reminded me of Jimmy Buffett's song, "Margaritaville" for some reason. Maybe it's because when you're on the beach with a drink in your hand, you feel free, and you're having fun. {I have no idea where this came from seeing as I am neither on the bunch nor do I have a drink in my hand.}

Whenever somebody asks me why I like music so much, I always tell them that it is my escape. It allows for me to leave what is my life, and be in another one, where everything is okay and people understand me. Where I can be happy and enjoy life in it's simplest, non-edited beauty. Are you getting what I am saying? Music is such a powerful thing that only a handful (figuratively speaking) of people actually understand. I am not going to sit here and tell you all that I am some sort of musical guru (because I'm not). But I will tell you that I get music enough to know that it has the power to free somebody's soul and let it run free with the melody, the lyrics, the beat, the voice....

It's quite ironic how people judge when somebody says that "[insert band] saved my life," or "music saved my life." I have read comments by people criticizing and calling people who even dare to utter those words stupid, and that they need psychological help. And guess what? Those comments piss. me. off. What is the difference between escaping by music and reading for an escape? Painting? Dancing? You see...that is where people struggle to shut up, think, and realize. There is not much of a difference, if any. It is a personal haven where you feel free to let down your walls and just immerse yourself one hundred percent into being free.

The reasons for my love of music does not run deep. I did not get it from my mum, my dad, my grandmum, nor my granddad. I discovered my passion for it on my own. No, I do not sing (I do it quite horribly, in fact), no I do not play an instrument (but I can do a little somethin'-somethin' on the violin and piano), and no, I do not write music (unless you want it to be a horribly written, piece of crap). Instead, I live, breathe, and sleep music. I listen to what others want to share with the world...with me. I listen to what the lyrics have say. What they mean. And when I find it, I latch onto it for dear life [especially if it has anything to do with my life] and never let it go. That is how I feel safe. I know that I can always rely on music. Whenever I am angry, frustrated, sad, put down, let down...I just reach for my iPod. And yeah, you got it; when I am happy, ecstatic, overjoyed, I grab that iPod as well. And I'd be darned if you disrupt me while my soul is free, dancing with the music. I'd be darned. So you want to know why I get so upset when you talk when I am listening to music? Well, you just read it. You are disrupting the freedom of my soul and my little haven of peace.

Song Choice: 'Free Now' by Sleeping With Sirens. Off of their new 2013 album, Feel, this song is one of my favorites by SWS. Being one of my favorite bands ever, SWS has gotten be through a. lot. Really. So I guess I may be a little biased with this, but I think you should hear them. Their music is unique and very amazing. My favorite album by them is Let's Cheers to This. After giving this tune a listen to below, I advise you to go and check that album I listed above out. You will love it.
