How To Wear Shorts in the Fall (with tights)

Shorts season is not officially over until the never. Think about it. When have you ever really put away your shorts? And if you say "during the winter, duh!" then I am mentally smacking you (you're welcome). If you are anything like me, you keep your shorts out just for "in case I get hot" or "I'll find a way to wear it!" Yes, those are actually my thoughts. Or, they were until I found out that I can, in fact, wear shorts year round. It is all about wearing them to match the season. Considering that the season is currently Fall, I decided to create a little "how-to" about wearing shorts in the Fall season. One word: tights.
Tights can help make or break an outfit. Honestly, they can. Tights come in many different patterns, colors, and textures. They can be worn with dresses, skirts, underneath jeans (preferably distressed), and -gasp- shorts. I know, incredulous, right? But that is why I love love love them (unless they are not fitting me right and I have to constantly pull them up - blegh). However, I know that I used to wonder how the heck can you wear tights with shorts without looking crazy. And you know how one question that somebody voices, a bunch of other people wonder (or at least that's what my teacher told me). That's why I am going to share with you all my findings about how do you get away with shorts and tights in the fall.
Tips on wearing shorts in Autumn:
1. Wear tights underneath them. You must remember that the weather is getting chillier, and baring all legs is no bueno. Don't think that just because tights cover up your legs you can no longer look cute - trust me, you can. Tights come in many various colors, designs, and textures so that you can mix-n-match with any outfit and feel very bueno.
2. Wear booties. It is my personal belief that taller boots with shorts do not look as good as booties do. However, you may feel differently. Be careful though because the taller the boots are, the shorter your shorts will look!
3. Just because you are wearing tights does not give your permission to bare all. I still do not get how some gals can bare all of their bum. Please do not let this whole "but-I'm-wearing-tights" thing trick you into thinking you can let your bum just out there. It's not cute. At all. Wear shorts that'd you would regularly wear and keep going.
4. Wear a sweater (slouchy preferably) with it. Be aware that it is still Fall time. Instead of just shorts and hoodies (I love wearing those during the summer), toss on a sweater/hoodie and shorts with tights! It's the perfect fall wear.
5. Try out different tight colors. Go dark and wear burgundy one day, and the next try out yellow. Vary your outfits, and you'll be cute all of the time!
