Fall's on the Horizon

By 10:00 AM , , , , ,

If you are not ready for fall talk, then you might want to exit out of this post. (Trust me, I'm not ready for summer to be over yet, either. I'm simply going with the flow.) The time we have left in summer is rapidly diminishing, and it's making me sort of...well, sad. I love the long summer days, the fun summer nights. I dig driving around with the windows down and summer tunes blasting. I enjoy the dips in the pool, and feeling of sand between my toes. I mean, summer is my favorite season after all. But! Fall is a darn close second. (Okay, okay, and the fact that we get to layer up more makes me happy. I enjoy cozying up in sweaters.)

While scouring Pinterest a couple of days ago, I started to see a trend: sweaters and tall boots. Booties are still here, but the tall ones are kicking their butt in terms of presence. Looking at these items made me feel an insurmountable amount of happiness deep in my belly. CLOTHES. I have a major thing for clothes that I can layer on. (No lie; just ask my family.) I wear sweaters in the winter, spring, summer, and fall. I (attempt) to wear boots/booties in all of the seasons, too. (Yes, I admit that I'm somewhat insane for this.)

a) over-the-knee sock | I have been aching for some over-the-knee socks for the longest! They are so comfortable and look perfect with tall boots. Plus, they give added warmth when all I want to wear is leggings and a sweater. This pair or socks are a good deal right now, too!

b) cut-out-boots | Brown, tall boots are my favorite during the fall! The earthy tone works perfectly with the color palette that I tend to wear a lot during the season (burgundy, brown, beige, gray, deep yellow).

c) over-the-knee sock | The etsy store that I linked to is perfect for over-the-knee socks! Check out their store. I kind of want the burgundy ones. It'll go great with my school's uniform. (This is not sponsored, by the way.)

d) flannel | I like flannel shirts. Like, a lot a lot. They are so versatile and can be worn during all of the seasons! They're perfect layering items; you can wear them tied around your waist, underneath a jacket, as your main outerwear - it's impressive! Sadly, I do not have a good flannel shirt, which sucks, but that gives me the opportunity to shop for one! My desire for one is so bad that I tried to steal my Granny's flannel after she let me borrow it one day. ;) Haha.

e) loose cardigan | Cardigans are the best during fall. You can layer them, you can wear them solo (with a shirt or camisole, of course), and you can wear them beneath things. It's pretty amazing. Over-sized cardigans are the best of the best type of cardigans. Being able to cozy in them is like cozying up with puppies! (Delightful.) (Although I am certain that I'd always choose pups over cardigans, it was a close tie.)

f) manchester tall boot | Free People is one of the best clothing/shoe brands. I do not buy from them really because the prices are kind of out of my range. (Hello! I still get an allowance, y'all.) When I do get a job, I know that this will be one store that I frequent. These boots are perfect. I can see myself wearing these with either a dress or dark denim. Jeez. Gimmie!

g) cowboy boots | I need some of these in my life. I can imagine everything that I'd pair with 'em. One day, I am going to save up to get me a good pair. Maybe when I graduate and (hopefully) go to UT (University of Texas) I can purchase a good 'ole pair from Down South.
