Goals for June
I am going to be flying to California in only a few weeks. Because of that, I am trying to write posts to hold this blog over while I prepare to go, and posts for the time I am getting settled there. I can already tell y'all that this blog will be getting updated not as frequently when I am away. This summer will be my first time on the West Coast (!); it will also be my first time away from my family for so long. Crazy, right? It's a biiiiig step for me, and I want to embrace everything that I come across. BUT! I will continue to update and schedule posts whenever I have the time to (mainly on Sundays and Fridays early in the morning) because my parents will probably be trying to catch up with what I've been doing.
Anyways! I came across writing prompts for June (or whenever you get around to it) over at Hello Neverland. Can we say perfect timing? I'll be using some of these prompts at times when my brain is fried, or I just need some inspiration. Starting today (because what's better than listing off my goals at the beginning of summer) I will be writing these prompts.
Mentally prepare to attend "college." If you have not been keeping up with my blog or are new, I am attending Stanford's Summer College this summer. I'll be taking Personality Psychology and Interpersonal Relations Sociology. In addition to those classes, I will be taking Zumba and Asana Yoga classes.
Pass all of my finals. Next week is our finals week at Renaissance. Oh Lord, please be with me. I've already taken my ACT Prep Final, so I only have five classes to be concerned with. Well, to be honest, I am only overly concerned with my Geometry final because I really suck at that class. #danggit
Get back into working out and eating healthy. Over May, I little-by-little slacked off. First, I stopped going to the gym. And then, I kind of started eating whatever it is that I wanted. It's partially because my family stopped cooking homemade dinner so much and started getting fast-food, but that shouldn't have been an excuse. This month, my aim is to change that. None to little fast-food will be ate my this girl. {Hopefully.}
Successfully arrive to Stanford (semi-alone). My mum is going to be walking with me to the terminal when I board the plane in Detroit. From there, it is all me until I arrive at San Francisco's airport, where I will then meet up with one of the gal's who received the Joyce Ivy Foundation Scholarship to Stanford as well. We will then ride a shuttle to our dorm on campus.
Figure out cute ways to style box-braids. I am getting box-braids next Wednesday, and I'm ridiculously happy. I have not had braids in the longest! Geez, I miss them so much. They're really convenient. This time, I want to find cute ways to style them, though. Maybe figure out how to do buns again? {I once learned by my friend during the college road trip, but I totally forgot!}

Glad I found your blog. You seem pretty cool. :)
ReplyDeleteHave fun at Stanford! My cousin went there and she has only positive things to say. Plus nothing beats California...except Detroit, but you know that ;).
