Favorite Performances of the Night {CMT Awards Edition}
The Country Music Awards (CMT) aired on June 4, 2014 at 8 pm EST. The show lasted for a good two and a half hours with live, amazing performances and hilarious hosting by Kristen Bell. When compared to the American Country Music Awards (ACM Awards), I would say the CMT Awards were equal in the amount of goodness. I mean, Jason Derulo came out for gosh sake! It was most definitely a night to remember. {Gee wiz. I wish I was there! One day....one day...}
My Favorite Performances Were:
They were honest-to-god amazing. One, their all-white ensemble was eerily perfect, and two, what made it even better was the color [paint] splash. Seriously! It was epic. Even the drum line could not help but grin. {I so peeped that. Haha.} Along with the vocals, the talent and voice put into this performance made this my favorite [and the most memorable] performance of the night. {Song: Day Drinking}
This was the opening act, and may I say that it was perfect? The variety in artists and the hip-shaking from Shake 'Dat Bum Bryan led this performance to the top spot in my heart. I mean, how often is it that you can come across country boys singing "Talk Dirty To Me?" Not often. {At least not to my knowledge. Harhar.} I've replayed this performance about a million times! Oulala. I love it! {La Grange/This Is How We Roll/Talk Dirty To Me Medley}
2. KEITH URBAN
I already love this Aussie man to death because he's...well, he's Australian. But! But, I have a new-found love for the guy because of his intriguing voice and talent. On the CMT Music Awards 2014, Keith awed everyone with his acoustic version of his famous song "Cop Car." Gee wiz. I adored that performance!
3. ERIC CHURCH
I have a lot of feelings about this performance. If I have to sum it up, then I guess I can say it was....perfect? Yup. Seeing as I love me some rock music just as much as I adore country, Eric Church's performance blew. me. away. I loved every moment of it and cannot wait to go download this song. HOWEVER! I Do want to point out that this song is not "country." Don't get me wrong, I loved it, but it...well, this was the Country Music Awards - this song seemed to be purely rock. Eh, but whatever. I dig it. {Song: That's Damn Rock & Roll}
Hillary looked gorgeous! The guys looked handsome! All of their voices were on point. What else must I say to describe to y'all how great their performance was? It was my first time hearing the song, and I most definitely am going to buy the song this weekend! Hey, bartender! {Song: Bartender}

6. LUKE BRYAN
While this was not my favorite performance of the night {Sorry, Luke baby}, this song is still one of my favorites because it's so perfect! The set was just kind of...er, boring? Oh geez, if only you could see how my face is cringing as I write this. Luke is anything but boring, but well, this set just did not impress me all that much. But I still love the tune! {Song: Play It Again}
7. HUNTER HAYES
I really do wish that I could adore this performance as much as I do the song itself, but...well, I can't. Hunter's voice was really shaky and pitchy and just not all that it could be. But the song! I loved it! {Song: Tattoo}
Find a keg and fill your cup. The motto to my life. {Harhar, I kid, I kid. ;} Brantley's performance was really laidback like he generally is, which means it was pretty awesome. And awing over his tattoo sleeve, which is very sexy btw, and muscular arms didn't hurt either. {Song: Bottoms Up}
This song confuses me a tad bit. I mean, you're getting drunk on a plane and.....yeeeeah, I don't really care - it's catchy and I dig it. And {please forgive me for mentioning all of these physical aspects of these guys} the man has amazing genes. Like, whoa there. This performance was made to be more entertaining with the dancers in the crowd/onstage. {Song: Drunk on a Plane}
These two were AMAZING. The country twang of Miranda and Carrie's powerful voice work fantastically together. These performance was - in terms of quality and awesomeness - ranks one hundred out of ten. Somethin' bad about to happen! I cannot wait to see the video for this! Plus, Miranda and Carrie looked so gorgeous and classy during their performance. Werk it, girls! Haha. {Song: Somethin' Bad}
11. BLAKE SHELTON
And no list would be complete without one of my favorite country men: Blake Shelton. His performance was really good with the set being as decorated as it was, plus he performed my my dad's and my favorite song. Me and you gonna take a little ride through the rive, let's ride.... {Song: Boys 'Round Here}
These were my favorite performances of the night during the Academy of Country Music Awards. I'm only a twinge bit upset due to the fact that some of my favorites only got part-time television air time to perform. Some of my favorites were Brett Eldredge, Thomas Rhett, Craig Campbell, and a few others. Overall, I loved loved loved the CMT Music Awards. {I mean, I did record it so that I can re-watch it 2,000,005 more times. ;}
Tune: Blood Brothers by Luke Bryan
