Top Seven Performances of the 2014 Grammys

By 9:32 AM , , , , , , , ,

One word: the Grammys.

Okay, maybe that is two words, but you get my point. The 2014 Grammys came on last night at 8 p.m. to God know's how long because after awhile I gave up and dozed off (after all of the really cool performances, must I say). Throughout the night, I had a ton of feels pertaining to the range of music, collaborations, and performances that occurred, and right now I am going to get these feels off of my chest. (Is the word feels becoming too overused now? Eh.)

1. Queen B and Jay-Z

The power couple did it all. Although they were not my favorite performance of the night, they were probably number five. If all award shows opened such as the Grammys did with the cutest couple (ever!), then I think all would be good. The amount of talent they both have, plus the type of show they put on - oh yes! If they had more time, I know that it would have been a total banger (I've seen Beyonce in concert to know this), but it was nevertheless amazing!

2. Lorde

I personally have a complete addiction with this beauty and her music. She is only seventeen, yet has won two Grammys already. That is pretty impressive, wouldn't you say? Throughout her performance and the time she won awards, I saw some slack being given to her over twitter, and no. I had the whole "ACA-SCUSE ME?!" thing going on. Some personal favorites of mine that I read: Lorde looked like she was having an exorcist, like she was that little girl that comes out of the TV, and like she was fifty-years-old. #canunot

For one, Lorde is talented and has won TWO Grammys (must not forget that little fact), and she also kind of has the right to not care what people say. Sure, some of those twitches and whatnot during her performance kind of threw me off kilter, but who cares. She killed it!

3. John Legend

"What would I do without your smart mouth? Drawing me in, and you kicking me out." This was my second favorite performance of the night. John Legend has always been such a talented man, and his new album shows no different! I swear, when All of Me started playing during the Grammys, I was singing the hell out of my heart (so much that my friend was all "shut the hell up!"). Aside from my amazing vocals (*ahem*), this song makes me cry. I swear, it is so beautiful! Oh! And when they shined the light on Chrissy Teigen (his wife), I almost died from happiness.

4. Dark Horse

Katy Perry is a freaking amazing! I love, love, love her! And her 2014 Grammys performance with Juicy J was, in one word, epic! It was most definitely my third favorite performance! The beat to Dark Horse is amazing, and it is such a fun song. Although I only know the chorus to the song, I can still get with it. And did y'all see that little hair flip that Katy did when the beat dropped? Oh, gurl, werk!

5. Pink and Nate Ruess

If I could only be as fit as Pink is right now, then my life would be perfect! She's flying through the air, twirling and stuff, which was pretty amazing if I must say. If that were me, 10/10, I would have flipped on my ass and embarrassed the hell out of myself. #lazygirlproblems And that dancer with her? Ooooh, he killed it! I swear! The fitness and dedication of some people about dance is really inspiring and it pays off! And can I make one note that I am pretty sure everyone made of Nate last night: that mustache makes him look like a pedophile, so can he not. Nate is a really good looking guy (that doesn't even look his age, mind you!), but that mustachio just is not working for me....or him, so it's time to let it go.

6. Imagine Dragons and Kendrick Lamar

This was THE BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT. If you cannot tell by now, the performance by Imagine Dragons and Kendrick Lamar was my favorite. They were a very entertaining collaboration that I feel should collab more (I most def want to see this in concert!). When Radioactive started to play, I was so into it! I had no clue that Kendrick was about to come out with m.A.A.d City. It was an interesting duo, but it most definitely worked. The energy in the air was (obviously) amazing because did you see everyone on their feet? This performance will be imprinted in my brain for...uhm, forever. Because it was just that awesome (and I don't even really like rap).

7. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Mary Lambert, and Madonna

I cried during this performance. They freaking married people (of all sexes and relationships) and it was too perfect. This had to be my number four favorite performance. What transpired during this performance was really unexpected, and....I just loved it. The song all alone is very nice and speaks the truth, but mix that with what happened during the Grammys and trust me, you'll be in tears too. This had to be

If you watched the Grammys, which performances were your faves? Any that you absolutely hated?
