Cleaning Out My Closet

By 10:00 AM ,

Although Spring is only a few months away, I feel as if a house needs to be cleaned out more frequently (and precisely) than a few times a year. A few times a month, I get the urge to clean, clean, clean. I usually do all the laundry necessary, clean up the kitchen and living-room in a more precise manor, redecorate my room, get rid of unnecessary crap, and overall clean up any messes. It makes me feel better about myself for being productive as well as less stressed {studies show that a more cluttered home leads contributes to stress}.

Last week, I experienced one of the days that I felt like being productive. I cleaned out my bedroom. Instead of only stopping at cleaning the bed and dresser part of the room, I migrated over to my closet and rearranged--dresses with dresses, dressy shirts together, skirts with other skirts, and jeans folded neatly on the ledge. At the moment, I have my shoes aligned on the floor along the wall, but I want to get something to keep them neat because I have a hunch they won't stay so put together. Before I cleaned, my closet was filled with a bunch of junk. I swear it was ridiculous! Shoes were everywhere, and it was too messy for me. I knew that I needed to clean up for the past month, but was too lazy to do it. Well, I pushed aside my laziness last Sunday and got to cleaning.

Those photos are of the way my closet looks now. It is more organized than before. Where my jeans are now used to be where a bunch of my shoes, purses, and blanket (that I use at night, but put up during the day) used to be. I am throwing out old shoes, donating purses and old clothing, and am unsure of what I am going to do about humongous blanket. So, there's that.

Do you ever feel like cleaning up randomly? If not, what you you tend to do to unstress?
