Why My Music Interests Are So Freaking Awesome
I am constantly blabbering on about music, music, and music, yet I have not really told you all about what type I love and why. It may be difficult to explain (because whenever somebody ask me, I usually go, "everything," just to avoid becoming a mess attempting to explain), but I'll try my darn hardest here for you all.
Before I get to telling you all about it, let me just say that music is a major part of my life. It is not like I write, record, or perform music, but it is like my best friend (honestly, I don't have a best friend). Music can explain what I am feeling and/or trying to say without me having to say it. The beat. The lyrics. The singer(s) voice(s). It is just art to me that I could not live without. It has gotten me through so much, and I am very passionate about it. That is another reason as to why I decided to incorporate music into this blog - it is me. And since this blog is supposed to showcase me, what better way than add something that I live by? Exactly, nothing. So, without further ado, here is my thoughts and answers on music.
1. What genres do you listen to? Any specific preference?
I listen to any and everything (with a limitation on Gospel [Sundays in church only - it is not really my taste] and hip-hop/rap (parties only, please)). Ignore my vague answer that I always give, and let me go into depth: I like country, reggae, rock, heavy metal, contemporary jazz, contemporary blues, r&b, folk/indie, pop, soul, dance, electronic, acoustic, house, grunge, latin pop, singer/songwriter (i.e. easy listening), punk, and holiday music (for all of the main genres, include all sub genres with that; for example pop-punk, soft-rock...etc).
2. What is your favorite song?
Ah, this is hard! At the moment, I am loving 'Don't Ya' by Brett Eldredge, 'Your Body Is A Wonderland' by John Mayer, and 'Lets Run Away' by Haley Reinhart. Nevertheless, my favorite song would either be given to 'Trespassing' by Adam Lambert or 'In The End' by Black Veil Brides. (Technically, I rank my favorite songs by genre, not by...songs - is that confusing?)
3. Who is your favorite singer/band?
Adam Lambert! I love, love, looooove him. Band? Er, Lady Antebellum.
Duh, 'Life Is A Highway' by Rascal Flatts. This song was always playing.
5. What songs can put you in a good mood?
BEWARE: THERE IS A LONG LIST AHEAD OF YOU, {oopsies} - 'Ready To Roll' by Blake Shelton, 'You Give Love a Bad Name' and 'It's My Life' by Bon Jovi, '1985' by Bowling For Soup {haha, I'm taking all of the old songs}, 'Gypsy Woman' by Anarbor, 'Don't Ya' by Brett Eldredge, 'Treasure' by Bruno Mars, 'Charlie, Last Name Wilson' by Charlie Wilson {omg! childhood memories, yesss.}, 'Bassline' and 'Fine China' by Chris Brown, 'I Do' by Colbie Caillat, 'Get Lucky' by Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams, 'Lovin' You Is Fun' by Easton Corbin, 'Chloe' by Emblem3, 'My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)' and 'Alone Together' by Fall Out Boy, 'Private Eyes' by Hall & Oates, 'Do It Like A Dude' by Jessie J, 'Downtown' by Lady Antebellum, 'Haven't Met You Yet' and 'It's A Beautiful Day' by Michael Buble, 'Hurricanes' by Panic! At The Disco, and 'King For A Day' by Pierce the Veil. feat Sleeping With Sirens, 'If You Can't Hang' by Sleeping With Sirens {the first song that I heard by them}, 'Ain't It Fun' by Paramore.
6. What music do you love rockin' out to in the car?
Anything fun and upbeat. Honestly, it all depends on what mood that I'm in. Sometimes it'll be rock, others, it'll be country. (those are the two main genres I listen to on the road.)
7. Where do you find out about your music?
I search Youtube, online, talk to people, and other music apps such as Songza.
8. Marina and the Diamonds or Lana Del Rey?
Both! Curse this question.
