#BeautyProject

Disney Channel has been changing a lot lately. What ever happened to the good 'ole days of That's So Raven, Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Wizards of Waverly Place, The Jonas Brothers, etc? That's more of a rhetorical question because I know: people grow up and life goes on. As people grow up, it seems like they get meaner and meaner and meaner. Bullying happens a lot more now, which sucks.  People are more judgmental, which also sucks. Why these things occur, I have no clue.  However, I do know that it is about time we start trying to change them. Disney Channel's Friends for Change program is very encouraging. Have you see their latest commercial with Raini Rodriguez? They encourage everyone to compliment each other, and to speak out for those who are unable (or too afraid) to do it for themselves.

They say, "You are beautiful!"

We all need to start saying that to one another. Regardless to our weight, hair, smile, nationality, race—we all are beautiful on the inside and out.  The way that society is currently, seeing the beauty that we have can sometimes be very difficult.  Looking in the mirror, what do you usually see? Hopefully a beautiful/handsome person. If not, then please do me a solid and go to the mirror right now, smile at yourself, look at all of the things that you like about yourself, and compliment yourself. After that, say, "I am beautiful/handsome, and nobody can make me feel differently." Do that daily and really believe it. Don't just say itmean it.

Instead of just pointing out your flaws, point out the good things that you like about yourself. Oh! And remember that people do not see all of the flaws that you see about yourself. Meditate on that. Once you have done that, return to the mirror and start the process all over again.

Starting tomorrow, do me (and yourself) a favor a join in with me in saying "I am beautiful/handsome!" everyday for the rest of the year. If you can go that long, you will be in a habit by then and will continue to do it. Seriously mean it when you say it, though. Let's try to get some positive back into your life—back into society!
