Who Says Jeans and Tees are Boring?

By 12:54 PM ,

As of today, I am putting myself on self-rest as my feet magically have become swollen (yeah, horrible, right) and it hurts like heck to even stand on them. Therefore, I am unsure when I will be doing another ootd, but I should be all good and ready by next week. Since I am disabled from sharing with you what I am wearing, I will instead share with you some of my fashion inspirations (yeah, it's about that time). Think Avril Lavigne, Miranda Kerr, Lana Del Rey, Mila Kunis, and Cara Delevingne. I enjoy laid-back, feminine, chic outfits as much as bold, eccentric, and daring ones. My mood is the main deterrent of what I will wear every day. For instance, today I am sweatpants and tee kinda gal (curse my stupid feet), and I don't mind it. Comfort over everything, no matter what trend I am aiming to hit per day (i.e. boho, rocker, chic, etc).

I'll start with some of my favorites from Avril and end with Miranda. Who are some of your fashion inspirations?

  1. Who ever said that black is only for funerals must feel quite idiotic by now. Just look at Avril + how she wore this black-on-black leather and shimmer ensemble (two. favorite. things. ever.) Can I say simplicity sometimes it the best way to go? Yeah, well I just said it because it's too darn true.
  2. Black with white accents (I'm crushing on that b+w blazer) equals pure lovely. I've always appreciated Avril's boldness on the subject of fashion, so with these leggings and blazer, my appreciation has not dimmed. At all.
  3. Graphic tees are the perfect addition to any outfit. Mix-n-matching patterns are also great additions because of the color play, plus the different designs. Avril obviously has it all together as shown in the advertisement for Abbey Dawn.
  4. Staying true to her classic rocker self, Avril paired fishnets with cut off, denim shorts along with a cropped, off-the shoulder tee. This is the style that I love most from Avril.
  1. A classic leather, biker jacket is one of Cara's go-to pieces in her closet (obviously as she wears it tons!). I really love that because it can toughen up a really feminine outfit, or it can just be a finishing touch to a more bad-ass or lazy look. Cara generally loves pairing it up with jeans/leather pants and a t-shirt, which is exactly what she did in photo #1. Inspiration worthy? Yes. Simplicity? Course. What's not to love? 'Nuff said.
  2. Referencing what I said about graphic tees when speaking about Avril's fashion, Cara seems to find (and love) the same trend. A graphic tee can make an outfit more casual than what it'd be without it. And hey! What's not to love about a 'squeeze this bum' tee? Haha. I want that tee.
  3. A military jacket is something that I think all gals need in their closets. It's the perfect wear for anywhere, any season. Cara matched with with a flannel shirt and a black mini skirt. A beanie is a great addition, too. I love this look of hers. It shows that a model can look however she wants to (by the way, she still looks so pretty!)
  4. Cara's fashion is one reason why she is my idol. She can make such a simple outfit seem so darn fashionable (not saying that it isn't). Once again, a leather jacket is apart of her ensemble. Oh! And lookie-lookie, a blue clutch. Pops of color {me gusta. *wiggles eyebrows awkwardly*}

  1. Floral prints will always own a spot in my heart. Seeing them on my second idol is really amazing as she looks amazing while wearing it. The belt is a great addition, too because it shows off her curves. Get it, Lana! {ahaha}
  2. Jeans and a plain white, button down shirt. 'Nuff said.
  3. Although black lace can sometimes really give the impression of mourning and death and funerals, this dress that Lana is wearing does not (well it could). She looks absolutely flawless.
  4. Lana Del Rey has always wore a more so "boho" look than anything else (see her headpieces that she wears more often than not). This baby blue dress is very chic, pretty and feminine, and the added headpiece allows for it to have a boho look to it.

  1. Stripes look great paired with darn near everything! Leopard prints and florals are my favorite, but guess what else it looks super casual with? Blue jeans. Yeah, I know (shockinggg - note the sarcasm). I love how effortless Mila Kunis chooses some of her outfits when she does not have to get all glammed up. Don't know what to put on in the morning? Just do what Mila does: stripes and jeans! Woooh!
  2. 'Hey There Delilah' just popped in my head by the Plain White T's. Of course Mila's casual ensemble would force that tune into my head {haha}. Seriously, I love how she is so darn casual! She does not really care for getting all dressed up, yet she still looks beautiful and chic, nonetheless. It's very admirable.
  3. When Mila does get dressed up, she sticks with chic and feminine. This black hi-low dress is really pretty. With it being in black (my favorite - non? - color), I adore it even more. The design of the dress to a pretty black dress to a whole 'nother level.
  4. I think Mila and I are twins with fashion. She is a jeans and tee kinda gal (when she's not in leggings), and I am too. Oooooh! Call tha doctuhhh!

  1. Wearing blazers is a fashion trend that it seems next to everyone is partaking in.  It is not only really cute, it can accessorize an outfit amazingly! So don't let me get started on how great Miranda looks wearing jeans, an adorable top and a blazer.
  2. Miranda looks fabulous wearing anything (no lie!), so she look amazing wearing this romper. It is so. freaking. cute. Pair it with heels? Perfect summer ensemble.
  3. A sheer blouse with jeans and leopard print shoes is a lovely ensemble. Leopard print shoes are quickly becoming a favorite of mine and I just love, love, love.
  4. Miranda looks great in this peach/orange dress. 'Nuff said.

Song Choice: 'Stacy's Mom' by Fountains of Wayne. A classic tha I am pretty sure everybody can appreciate, this song is fun tune that I enjoy tons. It is one of those "playback" moments where you go all Bowling For Soup on everybody - 1985, then you hit them with the Stacy's Mom by FOW, then you go all Jessie's Girl with Rick. It's all a process (one that you can enjoy, mind you). Give this amazing tune a listen below.

  1. Hi, Thanks for joining the hop and following. I am following your blog as well. Love these outfits! I don't usually wear jeans but I do occasionally wear leggings. I love a cute summer skirt or dress.
