Blogging Tips: When You Do Not Know What to Write
(via)
I find blogging in the summertime a little...er, challenging. A lot of bloggers can probably agree with me on this. The weather is pretty perfect; the prospect of going out with friends is high; driving down the highway with the windows down and music blasting is always a possibility; and life just gets in the way. During the fall, winter, and spring, blogging seems to be much easier. For one, dressing is better because (hello!) layers, so more fashion content can be posted. Two, think about this: snuggling up in the warmth of a blanket while writing a blog post or going outside and freezing your bum off? The choice is yours. (If you chose A, then you are a pretty smart person, you.)
So, what to do when you are fresh out of content or simply do not feel like blogging because you'd prefer to enjoy the unlimited sunshine and heat? (I live in Michigan! I need to take all of the warmth that I can get!) You simply do not blog.
Do not force yourself to spew out content. That is you putting quantity over quality first, which is a big no-no in blogland (or anywhere really). If the post idea does not come to you naturally, then do not just write a half-arse post. Your readers can tell. You can tell. Whenever you hit publish on a post, make sure it is quality work that you would not mind showing a future job interviewer or someone of importance in your life.
I am not saying that you just shouldn't write a post if an idea does not come to your head within five seconds. Sometimes you need a little inspiration such as Pinterest or someone else's blog. Maybe you could use post prompts; those are generally helpful. What I am saying though is that if nothing hits you after you look for inspiration, then just don't post that day. Don't feel bad; don't feel pressured; don't feel as if you are letting your readers down! I can almost one hundred percent guarantee you that they would much rather read quality posts over posts that are just published to say, "I posted today."

Ugh - writer's block is really horrible! It's the bane of my existence. (Maybe a little too far? Eh.) I hope that you overcome your writer's block! Feel free to e-mail me or something and I can always help you come up with some ideas. :)
