saturday tunes on say hello, doll

Have you met Black Veil Brides? Have you met Bring Me The Horizon? {Y'all How I Met Your Mother fans know what's up.} If you have not, then you are at the correct place today. Congrats! These are my two favorite bands ever because, well, their music is dauntingly awesome. However, I will say that if you do not enjoy rock/heavy metal, then this is probably not the post for you. If you do like the genre(s) or you are just curious as to what it sounds like exactly, then please do stay and enjoy this post!

Many associate Black Veil Brides with Andy's deep, empowering voice; others associate BVB with their usual all-black looks. Over the past few years, Black Veil Brides has done a completely shocking 90 degrees with their look, losing their makeup and {for some} spiky hair. The progress of this band is one of my favorites. Why? Well,  I used to look at Black Veil Brides and ashamedly judge. Granted, this was before I was really open to all of the different genres that I would come to love, but it was still wrong nonetheless. "Why are they wearing all of that makeup?" "Ew, why is his voice so deep?" Haha, oh, poor, poor, younger me. Little did you know that that band that you used to judge so much would now be your most favorite band. {P.S. His voice is freaking hot.}

Black Veil Brides is made up of Andy Biersack, Ashley Purdy, Jake Pitts, Jinxx, Christian "CC" Coma {middle, direct left of middle, direct right of middle, far right, far left}. The band formed in year 2006 and in Cincinnati, OH {awesome, right!?}, but the name BVB came when they relocated to Los Angeles. Also, there were numerous band member changes, so the currents {excluding Andy} were not apart of the band originally. Thankfully, they are now. A couple of the most popular tunes from the band include "In The End" and "Knives and Pens".
1. Exordium
2. I Am Bulletproof
3. New Year's Day
4. F.E.A.R. Transmission 1: Stay Close

One of the most unique facts about Bring Me the Horizon is something that you'd never know just by listening to their tunes. You have to legit find a video and just listen to the guys talk. They're Brits {otherwise known as British}. As I was writing this post, I seriously just found that out. {Way to spark my credentials, y'all. Harhar. ;} I suppose that fact should not be that much of a big surprise because a lot of rock/metal bands come from England.{Plus, with no stereotype intended, I can kind of look at the guys and tell. Is it only me that think that Brits have a certain....er, distinct look? It's seriously cool.}

Bring Me the Horizon is a five-person band, compiled of Oliver Sykes, Lee Malia, Matt Kean, Matt Nicholls, and Jordon Fish {middle, direct right of middle, direct left of middle, far left, and far right}. This band formed in 2004 and only had two former members. {I love it when a band has majority originals!} Over the years, the band has shifted ever-so-subtly from a primary deathcore band to a more metalcore one. This is what had me hooked and reeled right on in into the world of Bring Me the Horizon. I never {and hardly am} a deathcore fan. It is something that I can deal with, but I prefer more of the regular rock and metal. I'm pretty thankful that BMTH kind of shifted that way, otherwise I doubt I'd be as in love with them as I am now. A few of their most popular tunes are "Sleepwalking," "Can You Feel My Heart" and "Diamonds Aren't Forever," which btw, is what turned me onto Bring Me The Horizon.

Album: Sempiternal

1. Can You Feel My Heart
2. The House of the Wolves
3. Empire (Let Them Sing)
4. Sleepwalking
5. Go To Hell, For Heaven's Sake
6. Shadow Moses
7. And the Snakes Start To Sing
8. Seen It All Before
9. Antivist
10. Crooked Young
11. Hospital For Soul

Have a good Saturday! :)
