Road Trip Playlist
Vacations have always been my favorite thing to do during the Summer, Winter, Spring...Fall. Yeah, so pretty much whenever I can have a vacation, I take it and run with it. Sorry, I'm not sorry. ;) Haha. But something that beats air-travel vacations is road trips. They are fun and there is plenty to see. As someone once said (and that someone is me), "The view is the reward, the destination is just a benefit." That to me, is what I live by when I travel. That is why I like road trips much better.
But sadly, there will always be that one thing that frustrates you on the road trip. Just one thing. Regardless to whether it be one of your roadie companions, or something you see, or an arsehole driver on the road - it irritates you to the point of no return. Well, until you forget about it, of course. That's not the point, though. The point that I am going for is road trip playlists. Why? Ahem, that should be a no brainer, but for those who are still confused, let me expand on this subject. Road Trip Playlists are lifesavers! They have specific songs for a road trip, and that includes your favorite songs (duh!). And what does your favorite songs do? Well, they make you happy - or at least somewhat content.
Whenever I go on a road trip, I usually select a playlist to play the entire time. I do not know why, but it happens. On my road trip to Iowa last summer, I listened to all of Avril Lavigne's albums. On my trip to Georgia, I listened to Sleeping With Sirens and Pierce the Veil. The list goes on from there (from previous years to now). If I were to go on a road trip now, then I would have the songs on my playlist that are listed below.
1. Strut by Adam Lambert, This song is just so freakin' dance-worthy. Every time that I hear this song, I just want to get up, sing my heart out, and dance. And guess what? Even in the car, I will sing my heart out and dance. It may not be enough room, but I will do it! Give it a listen here. It is from his 2009 album For Your Entertainment. (i.e. You MUST listen to this song on full blast to get the effect of it.)
2. Trespassing by Adam Lambert, Another Adam Lambert song on the playlist, 'course! What'd you expect? His music is simply perfection, and something I could really listen to on a road trip. Imagine waking up in the middle of the night from a cat nap, you're still on the road mind you, and you have nothing better to do than listen to music and watch the passing scenery (haha, it's still dark - what?). This would be the best song to just bop your head to the beat with and dance awkwardly in your seat to. Haha, love that! Check it out here. It's from his 2012 album Trespassing. (i.e. Once again, you MUST listen to this on full blast to get the effect. I. Am. Not. Kidding.)
3. Summer Nights by Rascal Flatts, This song is just...it's just...needed. There is no real explanation as to why this song needs to be on your playlist - ESPECIALLY during the Summer. It is a fun, chill song that you can drive down the road and enjoy the summer time with. This song just makes me happy. Point blank. Here it is, on Rascal Flatt's 2009 album, Unstoppable.
4. Intoxicated by The Cab, This song is more on the chill side, but it is nevertheless a perfect song for a road trip playlist. It is something that you can tap your feet to and shimmy a little to. Haha, am I making sense? The song just needs to be listened to if you want to understand. Here ya' go, love. It is found on The Cab's 2011 album Symphony Soldier.
5. I Don't Want This Night To End by Luke Bryan, Besides the fact the Mr. Bryan is one hot piece of man, his music is something that I can listen to endlessly. The words of this song is just something that makes you want Summer to stay, Summer nights to come, and Summer parties to never end. This song is so good that even my sister (who absolutely despises country) likes it. Give it a listen here. It is from Luke's album Tailgates & Tanlines from year 2011. (i.e. Give a listen to the song Drunk On You. If you watch the videos, then you'll understand. The two songs are tied together. Enjoy! :) )
6. It's My Life by Bon Jovi, This is a lovely song to sing-a-long with! Trust me. Wind down the windows, blast this song, and just enjoy. And sing, of course. And even if you have no idea what the lyrics are, make up some. The song is just that fun. Check it out here. It can be found on Bon Jovi's album Crush in year 2000.
7. Life Is A Highway by Rascal Flatts, This is one of the greatest road trip, Summer songs. Ever. You cannot tell me that you have not heard of this song. And if you try, I am no longer speaking to you. A fun, upbeat song that can have everybody singing within seconds, this song is a done deal with spicing up a road trip! (i.e. turn this up waaaay loud for maximum effect.) You may find this song here, and get it from Rascal Flatt's 2011 album, Artist Karaoke Season: Rascal Flatts.
8. Cruise (either this or the Remix) by Florida Georgia Line, You had to have been expecting this. No? Well, I guess I am a mystery. *nods head with dark shades on* Anyways, this song is one of my favorites. These guys are one of my favorite bands. But, if you have not noticed, this song (mainly the remix, actually) is way overplayed. It is so overplayed to the point where it gets so annoying and I no longer want to listen to it. So, instead of listening to the remix, I turn on this bad-boy original and let it just play. It makes me happy. :) Check it out here, and you may find it on their Here's To The Good Times album from 2012.
9. Get Lucky by Daft Punk, Okay, now I know that you had to see this one coming. As one of the hottest new songs playing on the radio now, it is impossible to not like this song. Even though the meaning behind the lyrics might be quite dirty, it is still a very upbeat, chill, yet dance-able song. Haha. Get it? No. Whatever. :) But this song is something that I cannot help but to sing. Sorry not sorry. Get lucky here, and it is 2013 single feat. Pharrell Williams.
10. Don't Ya by Brett Eldrege, Of course my favorite song has to be on this list. This song is sung by a hunk of a man with a deep, lovely voice. Anddddd, the song is very catchy and you have no choice but to sing along with it. Yep, I said it - You. Have. No. Choice. :) It is one of those songs where you dance, sing, nod your head, tap your foot, and teasingly flirt with someone. Haha, just kidding (about the last one - not really). Anyways, this one just puts me in a happy mood. Want to see what makes me so happy? Click here. And then, go check out Brett's single from 2012.
*Bonus Track - 1985 by Bowling For Soup, This song is the bonus track because it is total road trip worthy! I mean, listen to it. It is a classic, and it is very catchy. "Looks at her average life, and nothing, has been ALRIGHT." Sorry, I am listening to it now and that line just came on. hehe. ;) Now give the song a listen and check it out from their 1999 album A Hangover You Don't Deserve.
What are some songs that you guys listen to during road trips? Regular vacations?
Song choice: 'In The End' by Black Veil Brides. Am I the only one who has a newly found addiction for this freakin' amazing band? Yes? No? Okay. Nevertheless, they are incredible, and I love Andy's deep voice as he sings...and when he talks. haha. Anyways, go and check out BVB's new album Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones. You will not be disappointed!
