I bought this bicycle-print dress from a thrift store back in San Mateo, CA. This dress caught my eye because of its unique print. I knew that I was going to buy it before I even tried it on. The only issue with the dress is that the cinched part falls too low on my waist, so I have to tie the belt around a couple of times. It could use a little bit of altering, but it's nothing too major.
This dress is so airy, which makes it the perfect wear during the summer months. I'll also add it to my autumn rotation as well. I will most likely just have to layer up a bit more because of how thin the fabric is. That's something I am willing to do because I refuse to put this piece up for the cooler months. It's too pretty of a fabric. Plus, it is pretty much an ode to my (at times) childish and zany personality. (Hello! Because what child doesn't like bikes?)
The shoes are also a new back-to-school purchase for me. I got them from Sears. (They were new in-store andon sale for $15!!!) Along with these flats, I purchased a pair of black riding boots with gold accents and black combat boots. (Both were on sale, too!) I am in love with a lot of the things that I have for back-to-school. Although, if I had the opportunity to not have to go to school, I would gladly give everything back. Eh. I dislike high school that much, y'all. Shameful? A little.
The song of this post is so ironic! I love it so much! (Hahaha.) But please note that Skylar is not being serious; she is actually being mocking. If you have an innocent mind, then you might not pick up on the meaning of this song anyway, but I just figured I'd warn those who do not. (Like me - oops?)
Tune: C'mon Let Me Ride by Skylar Grey feat. Eminem
Hey! It's Friday....woah. This week is pretty much done. {Way to state the obvious, Krishaun.} I'm not too somber about that. In fact, I am glad about it. This week needs to turn into the weekend, like, ASAP. I'm tired of going to school {says the girl attending Stanford this summer for two months}; I am busy studying for finals {grrr}, so I have worked up a major headache; and I am looking forward to this Monday, which is when I will be marching in the Memorial Day Parade with Dearborn Animal Shelter {ANIMALS!}. You see my case-in-point now?
I do not really feel up to writing out a blog post for today, so instead, I am going to share with you some of my polyvore sets. These sets used to grace my blog a lot back when I was just beginning in blog-world, and had no idea what to post. Hahaha. Those used to be the good 'ole days. ;) {Says the wannabe pro. Harhar.}
Anyways, if you want to check out my sets on a more "live" way, feel free to follow me over here. I typically follow back, dolls!
If you were to ask anybody who knows me (friends, family, or longtime readers of this blog) what type of music I like, they would most likely say, "Not rap." I do not want to say that I hate rap, but I most definitely do not love it. The old-school rap is the kind that I can really dig. Aside from that, the only time I listen to rap is when I am with my sister {but can we really classify high school guys tossing together "the next big hit" as rap?}. She loves trap music; I love caked up remixes. She prefers Hip-Hop and Rap in general, and y'all know that I adore Country and Alternative tunes. {Le duh.} My point is that it is and will always be rare that you'll catch me listening to rap music when I am not being forced to by someone, which in hindsight sounds horrible, but please tell me that you get my gist.
One of the only rap artists that I can sit down and listen to alonewould be Eminem. Will the real Slim Shady please stand up? His music is freaking amazing! Some people do not like him because he is a "white boy" or because he "just sucks". That's okay because we are all entitled to our own opinion; my opinion just happens to be that his rap game is much better than a lot of the "rappers" now. {Plus, it could never hurt that he is from Detroit like me!} His most recent album The Marshall Matters LP2 (Deluxe) is the perfect evidence of Eminem's talent. The album houses sixteen songs and features artists Skylar Grey (!), Rihanna, Nate Reuss from Fun., X Ambassadors, Sia, Jamie N Commons, and Kendrick Lamar.
Haley Reinhart is a twenty-three year old talented artist from Illinois. With a voice so light and pretty, yet pretty powerful, Haley is making a name for herself within the world of music. She started on American Idol (ranking #3) in 2010, and has since been signed by two labels; she is currently only with 19 Entertainment. Shortly after she left Idol, she released her album Listen Up! (Deluxe), which did not do as successfully as I believe it should have. The tunes on the album are soulful, light, and catchy. {I'm so seriously jealous of this girl's voice! Geeeez.} I've even dubbed her last tune "Let's Run Away" my future wedding song.
