Tennessee Vacation Recap + Exciting News!
{Caution: This is a veryyyyyyy photo heavy post! I am uploading so many pictures because this blog is what I use to remember a lot of things that happen in my life, including vacations. So, this is just a pre-caution. :}
Today, I am blabbing all, plus sharing an overload of photos from my Spring Break trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I've been trying to keep hush-hush for the past few days since I've found out about this exciting news, and today I get to finally share it! Just because of that, I can actually say Happy Monday, loves! :) {Update: I won't be sharing the news today because of how overloaded this post is! Check back tomorrow!}
{Oh! And the photos are going to kinda sorta be out of order because there are lots of them, and I did not feel like reorganizing them. Oops?}
My family stayed at the Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort & Spa, which is an incredible place to vacation! You literally stay in the Smoky Mountains, and the view is priceless. We stayed near one of the pools, and I loved it because it was not that busy, although we only went once. On location, there is one other, bigger pool as well as a water park, but we did not visit those. {The water park is nice though! I remember it from my first time going some years ago, plus I saw it again this year.}
The view was seriously incredible. I would die to wake up to something like this everyday. Everything was so serene and peaceful. Plus, the staff there make the experience so much better! {We had a guy named Jason as our "concierge" and he was the perfect, energetic type of person that the customer service world needs more of.
My sister and I went into the Hollywood Wax Museum, and I highly recommend it to anyone who visits Pigeon Forge! It is in the perfect location {around numerous other museums and attractions}, and the cost was not bad {plus, we got $5 off of each ticket through Westgate}.
My parents would have died if they saw Edward and Bella. They, for some weird reason, have a crazy addiction to all of the Twilight movies. {Seriously, just look at our DVR.}
I would be that girl that smiles next to a crazy, psycho killer. To be honest, while I was in the "horror" portion of the wax museum, I was deathly afraid that the wax statues would come alive, chase me, and kill me....yeah, maybe that was to the extreme?
My mum, sister, and I went to Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies, and it was amazeballs! There were so many fishies and sharks and rays. {Only I would say fishies. ;} Plus, they had a room where you stepped on a moving, flat elevator that you would find at an airport or something. It took you underneath sharks, fish, etc. The experience was quite nice.
P.S. That is a fish! It is camouflaged!
This sign scared the shizz heck out of me! Oh my gosh. A shark attacked, like viciously rammed, against this tunnel before? I'm glad to know that the acrylic tunnel walls are tough enough to withstand a shark attack, but um, did you fix it a little bit? I mean, it had to have weakened just a smidge? Don't ya think?
The two photos above show my sister and I touching crabs. I was terrified, like what if it...y'know, snaps me? I will sue. ;)
We were heading to Nashville, TN. I wish we could have stayed a little bit (read: a lot) longer to explore the area. I really would have liked to try some of the good food I hear about and visit the Country Music Hall of Fame {plus the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame in Memphis}. The next time I go to TN, those will be a must-see!
I just had to get a photo with James Dean and Elvis! I mean, c'mon now.
{Sorry for the photo bomb and the low quality of some! The last bunch were taken on my sister's iPod.}
Other things we did, but do not have photos of:
* Zip-lining at Wears Valley Zipline Adventures. The zip-line tour guys were so nice and funny. They kept joking with everyone and has excellent customer service. When you first go, they meet you at the bottom of the mountain and loads everyone up into this pickup truck, and then takes you up to the building where you get prepared to zip-line. On the way up, we saw a bob cat {oh my gosh!} and that was quite an experience. I highly recommend super-sizing your package because the courses are so fun! Plus, zip-lining in the Smokies is seriously breathtaking.
* Horseback Riding at Five Oaks. They also provide zip-lining services, but the lines are lower. My family preferred a more challenging course. :) The horseback riding was extremely fun! I love riding. They have a 30-minute deal and a 1-hour deal; I took the latter. The tour guide was very country and eccentric, but nevertheless friendly! I loved him! I'm working on being able to ride a horse more comfortably now as it can be quite...errr, a nuisance sometimes. Y'knamean. {Hahahah! Remind me to never say that again; y'know what I mean.}
* We went go-cart racing! I cannot remember the name of the place to link it, but it is in the area of Pigeon Forge where a ton of museums, restaurants, fast-food, and other go-cart racing places are. I know that it had approximately three levels, and I think it was yellow and blue, or something? I dunno. Just look for a go-cart place that has the sign "$5 per race". It's worth it! {Although, some of the guys could have a better attitude because, um, sir, YOU'RE RUDE!}
Overall, I had a blast in Tennessee! I cannot wait to go again. After this last trip, I am seriously considering moving there once I graduate from college. :)
